Meet LaShondra,
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Hi, I'm LaShondra, and I want you to know you're in the right place. Deciding to seek help isn't easy, and I don't take that for granted. Let me tell you a little bit about why I chose to work in mental healthcare.

My path to psychiatric care wasn't a straight line — it was shaped by 13 years of nursing across some of the most demanding and meaningful settings in healthcare.
From long-term care and the NICU to home health, school nursing, and psychiatric settings, I cared for individuals and families during some of their most vulnerable moments, where emotional and psychological needs were just as significant as physical ones. I saw firsthand how often mental health concerns were inadequately addressed due to time constraints and system barriers.

What stayed with me most was hearing patients say they couldn't get an appointment for 6 months or longer, at the exact moment they needed help the most. That's what inspired me to establish Renewed Hope & Wellness, where accessible, timely, collaborative, and patient-centered care isn't just a goal; it's the foundation.

My passion for psychiatric care is backed by the training and credentials to support it. I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with clinical training across inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth settings, and I hold a Master of Science in Nursing from Herzing University with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health.
