FAQ for Online Psychiatric Practice Services

01

How do I book an initial psychiatric evaluation?

Click the booking button at the top of any page to view available appointments and choose a time that works for you. We recommend starting with the free consultation so you can ask questions before committing to a full appointment. If you don't see a time that works, give us a call or email, and we'll find something that fits.

02

Do you accept insurance for evaluations and medication management?

Yes — we are in-network with Aetna, Carelon, Cigna, and Optum for patients located in Connecticut, Iowa, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. For Vermont residents, we are currently out-of-network, but we'll provide you with a detailed superbill each month that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please give us call to verify which insurance we accept for your state.

03

What happens during the first visit?

Think of your first visit as an unhurried conversation — not a test or an interrogation. We'll talk about what's been going on, what you've already tried, and what feeling better looks like for you. From there, we'll collaboratively discuss your treatment options, which may include medication, lifestyle changes, or therapy referrals. To make the most of your time, please complete your intake forms at least 24 hours before your appointment.

04

What is the process for requesting medication refills?

Refills are typically managed during your scheduled appointments, and we'll make sure you have enough to last until your next visit. If you need a refill between appointments, send a request through your patient portal at least 3 business days in advance to avoid any gaps in your medication. Please allow 24-48 business hours for your refill to be processed and sent to your pharmacy.

05

How can I reach you between sessions?

Message us anytime through your secure patient portal — we typically respond within 1-2 business days. For cancellations or scheduling changes, you're welcome to message us through the portal, send an email, or give us a call."

06

What should I do in the event of a mental health emergency?

Your safety is our priority. During your care, we'll work with you to create a personalized safety plan, so you know exactly what to do if a crisis arises. However, we are not an emergency psychiatric practice. If you are experiencing a life-threatening crisis, please call 911 immediately, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988, or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
